3 Months old

Well I know every mother thinks it but seriously I think Emmitt is the cutest baby ever (well at least in the top 4)! I need a new camera or some picture taking lessons or something because these pics don't do him justice. Here's the standard pose:

I am really loving the 3 month stage. He is doing so well and he is full of smiles. We all just love to talk to him and play with him- make him smile and make him laugh and smother him with kisses. Most nights now he only wakes up once to eat and then he goes right back to sleep. When he was a little more than 2 months, we moved him out of our room and into his crib in his own room at night. He really started to sleep a lot better with this transition. During the day he naps most happily on our couch. He still likes to be held when he's awake but I am able to finally get things done during his naps. He still dislikes his car seat but overall life with baby Emmitt is really really good. I wish I could freeze him at this age he is just so darn cute! Heres a couple other pictures from this month...

the things kids say

Today Brielle asked me to have a friend over and when I told her it was too late for today she stomped up her foot, scrunched up her angry face and declared to me...

"but mom I AM tudent of da munf" (translation: student of the month")

-guess I didn't realize just who I was dealing with :)

Makenna is a Girl Scout

Initially I resisted Makennas request to become a girl scout- mostly because I did not want to be selling cookies or complicating my life- but this year I relented and I am sure glad I did because she LOVES it. They recently had their award ceremony and it made her feel very proud to be getting some badges. She has great friends involved and they do some great activities. Unfortunately though cookie season is here... ugghhh..... so if the cookie eating bug bites you- give her a call. I hate pushing things so inevitably I will end up buying myself just enough cookies to get her the badge and then call it good... oh the fun of being a girl scout mom!

I have good kids.

This morning I sprung out of bed at 7:20. We have church now at 9am so I had to get going. I walked down the hall to see what state the kids were in and to my pleasant surprise they had all gotten themselves dressed for church on their own. Not only that but they had also gotten their pillow pets dressed for church as well. Can't ask for more than that...

Emmitt's Blessing Weekend

We blessed our precious baby Emmitt on New Years Day. We had a great weekend as both sets of Grandparents and Aunt Julie flew in for the occasion.

Here are a few poses from the big day... my pictures aren't great but hopefully one of the other picture takers there will send their good ones to me so I can have some better ones... hint hint :)

And heres the star of the day. His daddy gave a him a very wonderful blessing and he was an angel throughout it.My mom said he looked like a mini temple worker in his little outfit and I must agree :)

The rest of the weekend was filled with visiting, shopping, eating, game playing, and the highlight for the kids of course... the pool. Because of all our company, grandma and grandpa stayed at a hotel which had a pool so the kids had a great time dragging us there every day they could.

We all loved having little Sadie staying with us for a few days. She was so much fun!

We are truly blessed with wonderful family. It was a wonderful weekend! Thanks to all who were a part of it and much love to those who couldn't make it. You were missed.

Brielle's First Haircut

Brielle had her first official haircut on December 8th (this post is a bit overdue). It was just a trim to even things out and it sure was an improvement. Brielle was SOOOO excited when I told her that we were going to get her hair cut. She was the perfect "client."
