Halloween 2015

Our ward had a trunk or treat and for the first time we actually decorated our trunk.

The girls.  A bag of jelly beans and an Icee.  Both costumes we saw online and copied.

Brielle was thrilled to win a prize for her costume.  That was her primary motivation in deciding that that was what she wanted to be so Im glad her (I mean my) efforts were rewarded ;)

Sadly the big kids were off doing big kids stuff durring our pumpkin carving.  But these little budies still helped me create a masterpeice Jack-O-Lantern

On actual Halloween night we had dinner with the Camps and all these friends and then went trick or treating.  Makenna and Brayden were with their friends and the other two didnt last too long.  We only had to trick or treat about 20 minutes and then they were done.  Then we stopped in the Albertis street tacos and the Petersons cinnamon rolls.  It was a fun and yummy night!

Emmitts 5th Birthday

Emmitt is 5!  My baby is not a baby at all anymore.  For his birthday party, we invited his friends to the park for a "Superhero" party.

On his actual birthday he chose donuts, sausage, cranberry juice and bacon for breakfast.  He opened his presents which included a stuffed spiderman, some hulk hands and a build a bear gift card among other things.  That night we had the ward trunk or treat so the next day we went out for his birthday dinner at Chuck E Cheese.

I think Emmitt had a good birthday.  He'll tell you he liked his party the best.  Despite being a handful at times, he brings so much joy and laughter to our family and we love him oh so much.  Happy Birthday Emmitt.

Brielle's Baptism

October 24th, 2015 was a special day for Brielle and all our family.  She was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  We are so proud of her and grateful for her.  It was a special day.  We were lucky that both sets of grandparents were able to be here for the occasion and it was also extra special for Brielle because she got to share her baptism date with her two best friends, Addie and Kylie, who happen to all have October birthdays.  They are in the same class at church and school so they are great friends!  Heres a photo recap...

Taylor Swift Concert 2015

Us girls (Me, Makenna, Brielle, Laurie, Natalie, and Emma) all went to the Taylor Swift 1989 concert together.  We had a blast.  After spending the afternoon at six flags, we headed off to dinner at the good old Olive Garden.  Laurie made the girls these super cute matching shirts.  The girls got all dolled up in the bathroom there and then we headed off to the ATT stadium.

The concert was phenomenal.  Our seats were up high but we had a great view and we loved every minute of the show.

Brielles 8th Birthday

We had Brielles party a bit before her birthday because October is such a busy month.  She invited her two best friends over.  They made pizzas, and cake cones and then we went to the movies.  I think she had a blast.

On her actual birthday, she was showered with presents

One of her presents was a build-a-bear gift card so she had fun with that.  And one of her birthday surprises was that her dad was volunteering all day at her school as a "watch dog".  She loved that.  Then of course we ended the day with Cheesecake Factory.

Happy Birthday to my precious Brielle!

Kevins Marathon

Back in May, I threw out the idea of Kevin running the St George Marathon with my dad.  To my suprise he was totally interested and signed himself up.  He began the vigorous preparation and rigorous training required to prepare oneself for such an undertaking.  It was not easy but he stuck with it even through the misery of doing his longest runs in the hottest part of our Texas summer.

And then the day for preparation passed and the big day arrived.  We flew in to Vegas a couple of days before and spent a night at a fun resort there.  The kids enjoyed the pool and activities there and visiting the on site Dennys.  It was a good time.

Then we were off to St George.  We stayed at my aunt Shellys house but Grandma and Grandpa got a hotel.  We spent some time swimming there as well and showing Grandparents our favorite Studio C sketches.
The day before the race there was a convention with all sorts of booths for runners.  Kevin visited one where he got not only his leg taped up but also his leg half way shaved ;)  Brielle was the lucky girl there too who had the winning raffle ticket so daddy got himself a new pair of shoes FOR FREE!

And then the big day.  The racers were off at 4ish in the morning and we met them at the finish line a few hours after that.  They both did terrifically.  Kevins time was just under 4:15 so he did really well and we were all happy with that.  Grandpa did excellent as well.  They were supermen!

Afterwards, dad snagged the kids some popsicles and we got our injured runner into a nice ice bath.

The next day we recovered from the run, watched conference, visited the Brigham Young house, and walked around St George a bit.  It was a good time!
The trip was a good time and a great success for our runners!
