Haloween 2016

I guess it means your kids are growing up when you only have two pictures from Halloween.  The older girls dressed as "Masquerade" girls.  I made their adorable tulle skirts.  We had the traditional ward trunk or treat and then on actual Halloween we went out with the Corbridges.  Makenna and Brayden both hung out with friends so it was just us and the younger ones.  The holiday is indeed evolving as our kids grow up.  It was a good time though.  We ended the night at some friends for a little Halloween party.  It was a great time!

Pumpkin Patch

We were spoiled in Omaha with the best pumpkin patch ever.  Since then we haven't found anything that compares.  However we still managed to have a great time at this little pumpkin patch not to far away.  I took the kids with JAmy and her kids.  It was a warm sunny beautiful festive fall day!

Pumpkin Carving

I think this year was some of our best work.  The boys worked together on the Y football and Brielle did the owl and Makenna made the bat.

Emmitt's 6th Birthday!

Emmitt was so excited to turn 6.  He loves birthdays.  He had donuts and bacon and juice for breakfast then opened presents.  Then at school I brought him chick fil a for lunch and we ate with his best friend Taeya.  For his party with his friends we went to Chuck E Cheese.  That was a great time for him!  And we topped it all off with the traditional train cake like he has had every year since he was two!  Happy Birthday Emmitt!

Its a tradition.  Every year.  Not much remarkable about this year but it happened and it was fun and delicious.

Costa Vida Campout

Costa Vida (a knock off of Cafe Rio) was one of our Utah favorites.  So when we found out one was opening up here we were very excited.  Kevin called often to find out about the grand opening.  They had a "soft opening" the day before the actual opening and we got to go on that day and eat for free. Then for the real grand opening they told us that the first 100 people got free Costa Vida meals (one a week) for a year.  That was motivation enough for us.  Brayden and Daniel and Jason camped out for the night.  The girls were upset that we wouldnt let them sleep there so instead they woke me up bright and early (as if it was Christmas morning) and we got there just after 5am.  Jason had to leave in the morning for work so Julie and I joined them in line bright and early.  Kevin had to catch a flight so he couldn't be there but in the end our family got 5 cards to eat free for a year.  It was a total score- and a lot of fun too!

Brielles 9th Birthday

For Brielle's birthday party she chose a spa theme and we had a lot of fun with it:

We turned the playroom in our spa, complete with spa beds.  We planned on making face masks, hand scrubs, lip gloss and then doing pedicures.  It all turned out so cute.

Brielle and I made these high heel cupcakes for her cake.  They turned out so cute and delicious.  They were a hit.

And then as a family we carried out our traditions, a breakfast, presents, and then a family dinner out.  She chose the Cheesecake Factory and enjoyed being sung to there ;)

Homecoming Parade

This was our 3rd time attending the Homecoming parade in Prosper.  Its always a lot of fun and a great community event.  Brayden was on the Prosper Wrestling float (hes the one sitting down) and the rests of us enjoyed the parade from the sidelines.  There was plenty of sun to keep us warm and plenty of candy coming from the floats.  We always enjoy seeing church and community friends there.  And this year we got to bring the Grigors too.  It was a great time.

St. George Marathon Take 2

Kevin is crazy enough to want to run a marathon not just once but twice (and probably more than that).  He returned to St George and beat his last race by 14 minutes- a huge amount in marathon terms.  He was awesome.  We left the kids behind this time and the two of us enjoyed a little getaway in St George.  We had a good time and the race was the grand finale!

In the picture above we are were checking out the race trail, visiting the convention and having some good fool along the way.  Kneaders and Veyo Pies. yum.
Here is Kevin crossing the finish line and then there are a couple after shots.  He was hurting but he did great!

Prosper Darlings

Brielle played another season this Fall with the Prosper Darlings.  She is quite the soccer player and she loves these two buddies on her team.
