Happy Birthday Makenna!

Makenna is 14!  She celebrated by going to the mall and Costa Vida with some of her favorite friends.  And then some more friends joined the fun and they all went to a dance together.

For her family birthday dinner we went to the Cheesecake Factory.  And of course there was some present opening in there too.  Happy Birthday Makenna.  We love you so much!

Friday Night Lights

This year Kevin was able to attend a lot of Prosper High Schools football games.  Our cousin Jack plays on the team so its a lot of fun to watch.  Brayden usually went for broadcast and Makenna loved to go to the home games with her friends.  I went only once on this beautiful night and got this picture of this amazing sky.  Only minutes later they shut the game down for a rain delay but it was stunning until it started to pour.

I changed the pendant lights in the kitchen all by myself and Im pretty proud of that.  I wasnt sure half way through if I could do it but youtube helped me through and now I love my new lights!

Ending our boating season with a BANG!

We went out Saturday for a fun day on the lake with our friends the Andersons.  Everything was going great.  We were nearing the end of our day so I decided to give it a go on the tubes- with the promised that it would be a gentle ride.  Well it actually was a gentle ride but not more than two minutes in we hit a random bump and my chin collided with Braydens head and split it nicely open.  Brayden and I went off to urgent care where he got a few staples (without any numbing!) and I escaped with only a bruised chin.  Good times!

Chick Fil A Campout

When the new Chick Fil A was opening by our house we knew that the first 100 to get there the day before and spend the night would get free Chick Fil A for a year (one meal per week) but we didnt think it was something we could do because of work and getting the kids to and from school.  However when Kevin was leaving the office we heard that they still didnt have 100 people so if he hurried he might still be able to participate.  Luckily he got there (number 98) just in time.  So Kevin spent the night there and Brielle and Emmitt tried to join him.  They spent the evening hanging out but when we heard they would have to wake up at 4:30 the next day we figured it would be better for them to sleep in their own beds.  It was a fun time though.  They fed them dinner and there was games and music and festivities.  When there is free food to be claimed, we are there!
Ironically Kevin is the only one who did the full deal and I dont have any pics of him.

Back to school!

For some reason this was a particularly tough year to send the kids back to school.  They are just so grown up and its a bit terrifying how fast its all happening.  They are such great kids though and the future is bright.  BUT sending another one to High School puts a pit in our stomachs.  Here's to another great year!

This is "pick up your schedule day"  I loved watching Brayden show Makenna around the school.  Hes such a great big brother!

Crazy Kids

Brayden is driving this year!  It was so hard to watch them drive away.  I'll miss our morning drives to school.
