Fun with Fondant

Last night I made a cake for my cake class but we ran out of time to decorate it so I did it this morning. Brayden joined in and seemed to enjoy using fondant to express his creativity- he was even adventurous enough to taste it (and of course feed it to Makenna).
Train them young, right?

Brayden's masterpiece (it's an airplane)

My masterpiece (it's a present cake)

That looks amazing Melissa! Great job! Fondant scares me a little bit, but it looks so neat. Maybe I need to experiment with it. And I like the airplane too. Very artistic!

This cake is marvelous!
I was also wondering who eats all these beautiful cakes. They look too good to eat. It's so great that they can be preserved forever through the magic of blogging.

What a beautiful cake! I'm always impressed with your creations. Today in church, the Enrichment leader asked us all if any of us did any cake decorating and I instantly thought of you. Too bad you aren't in our ward so you can teach us all your talent.

I love to watch the cake decorating contests on the Food Network. Your present cake reminds me of those. Great Job!!!

Melissa. I wish I were taking this cake decorating class with you so I could learn all these skills you are. Maybe I'll have to hire you as my teacher before you leave! I watched this cake decorating competition on TLC last week that was fascinating: five layer cakes with ridiculous designs and frosting and decoration. The winner won $10,000. You are well on your way there.

Melissa, I love how your cakes are looking. This might be a stupid question, but is it hard to eat them when they look so beautiful?
