And finally the crowning event of all the graduation events...Makenna's actual graduation.

The senior activities continue... with a big bang...
First the seniors walked the halls for one metaphorical last time as fellow students and parents cheered them on and Kevin busted out there for a big dad hug. Then on to the pep rally which Kevin and I (mostly I) had put in many hours practicing the parent dances to surprise and probably embarrass our seniors with. It was a lot of fun both to prep for and perform and made for a pretty fun event.

This is the time of year to celebrate my kids greatness. Emmitt and Brielle both were recognized with the Principals award for all A's all year and since it was Emmitt's last year in elementary we got to enjoy seeing him in a slideshow and then enjoying classroom awards one last time. He also was recognized as one of the special few who were at Folsom their entire elementary career! We are so proud of our amazing kids!
We combined together with several of Makenna's friends to host a big graduation open house at a nearby neighborhood clubhouse. We had a lot of fun seeing so many friends and wishing all these kids a big congratulations!
This is one of those senior events that Brayden missed out on due to Covid but its a cute Prosper tradition. Prosper High Seniors wear their graduation gown and go walk the halls of their zoned elementary. While Makenna never actually attended Elementary at Folsom, it was pretty cute and fun to get this picture of her hugging Emmitt from some of the staff at the school.
Our Young Men and Young Women leaders put on a lovely senior night to acknowledge and celebrate all the graduating seniors. Makenna had a table of her things and we played a fun round of Kahoot with each of the seniors and then enjoyed each of their favorite treats (Makenna had me make her chocolate Bundt cake that she has for her birthday each year). It was a fun night!
This week we celebrated Makennas school success by attending the Top 10% banquet and then the PEF scholarship night. Being invited to both of those is quite an honor. Makenna excelled academically at school and she was recognized for it. Though she may have wanted the honor of being one of the top 10 in her class (not top 10%- cause she easily made that), she did achieve the much cooler story of being ranked #11. That may have at first been a tough pill to swallow, over time we will look back and laugh about it.
At the PEF (Prosper Education Foundation) scholarship night she was awarded a scholarship from Mathnasium which is the tutoring center Brayden used to work at. She was a well deserved recipient.
