No I do not think Utah's climate is ideal by any means- I reserve that honor for some place like ahh maybe Maui. However what I do love about Utah is how the weather does such a nice job of being "holiday appropriate." We enjoyed a crisp cool but sunny Thanksgiving- with bare trees, fallen leaves and clear skys. It was perfect for cuddling up in a blanket on the sidelines of a football game or taking a brisk walk on campus to feed some ducks (as you can see below). Just when it was time to break out the Christmas decorations- (just after Thanksgiving seems to be the American way) the snow came and frosted our bare trees and blanketed our rooftops. It just makes our Christmas lights look that much better.
And here you see the advantages of living on a mountain- Our front yard is a perfect sledding hill. I should have taken a picture of the fire hydrant that we used to stop ourselves at the bottom of the hill- to avoid ending up on the icy road which inevitabley would send you spinning down our steep hill. Sledding on our hill adds a whole new dimension of danger to an already dangerous activity. What a thrill though!

Cute Kids
Today while we were stopped at a stop light, Makenna saw an Arby's sign with a picture of chicken strips and a strawberry milkshake and she said to me,
"look mom, I see chicken, I see sawberry, It's so beautiful!"

Who Says Dad's Arent Responsible
Yesterday while mom went to the temple, dad took remarkable care of the children in his charge and he took this photo to prove it. Yes- those kids are eating apples, pears AND carrots. Wow, dad takes such good care of the kids when mom is away, I think mom should leave more often and let that super dad really shine!
In case you are all wondering, the kid in the middle is Brayden's good buddy Mark.

my baby, my sheep
We had a beautiful 70 degree day today and spent the afternoon in the backyard. Makenna kindly asked both her sheep and her baby if they were tired and then gently put them to bed on the stairs and then joined them herself. The sheep is her treasure she stole away from her grandma and her baby is her latest recruit. She carries the two of them around wherever she goes and takes very good care of them. Not a day goes by where I dont hear Makenna say, "where is it ma sheep? where is it ma baby?"
