Spring Choir Concert

Tonight was Brielles final middle school concert.  They sang beautifully.  We are going to miss having Mrs Joyner as her choir teacher.  She is the best!

Goin on a Lion Hunt

In an effort to help and support the boys summer camp prep we took a hike today around the Lake.  It was a beautiful day.  Makenna and I just zoomed ahead of the boys that were heavy laden with great big heavy bags.  And we enjoyed some tunes along the way.

Hoppy Easter

This year we enjoyed our Easter traditions with the Corbridges.  We dyed eggs, we rolled eggs, we had fun>

Wedding Dress Try On

The girls have been watching a lot of "Say Yes to the Dress" on TV which brought up the topic of my wedding dress. So I brought it out of the box in the closet and we had a little try-on party.  The girls both fit into and looked gorgeous.  They both said it was prettier in real life than in the pictures, so that was good to hear.  It was a fun time.  I put it on too but sadly could not zip it up- blame it on my rib cage.

And after we texted these pictures to Grandma she joined in the fun and tried on her dress too!

Photo Shoots

Senior year is full of lots of fun and picture taking.  Here's a few Makenna took with friends.  She is such beauty!

This is our favorite one to tease Kenna about.  Her timing was just a little off  and it looks like she just cant quite get off the ground :)

Spring Break 2022

We had an awesome trip this year for Spring Break.  We flew to Orlando and stayed right by Disney Springs.  So when we arrived we got our Disney shopping in- we got our ears and tried the famous cookies we have been hearing about on DFB (Disney Food Blog- our favorite youtube channel to watch on Sunday afternoons).  We also ate dinner at Chef Arts Homecomin restaurant.  It was delicious.

Then the next day we hit up Hollywood Studios.  I told the kids they could pick just one park to go to and that's what they chose.  We did this super smart thing (credit to Kevin) and took an uber to the park instead of our hotel shuttle- and we got there early enough to be right at the front of the line.  So when the park opened we were able to book it to Rise of the Resistance and be fairly close to the front of the line.  It was a super crowded day so after our first few rides we switched to eating mode.  We had a great day and did it all- except Tower of Terror which always had too long of a line and no one really cared.  We worked the digital fast pass system as best we could but it was just a really crowded day.  Makenna and Dad conked out on us a little early but me and Brielle and Emmitt stayed right till park closed.  Then we took an uber home- let me tell you that is the way to go!

So we planned to head down to Panama City Beach the next day but the forecast looked gloomy so we decided to detour just a bit on our way to try and get some time at a warm beach.  We arrived at Daytona beach and big cloud rolled in.  So we had a good twenty windy minutes till the storm chased us away.  Then we were on the road again headed to PCB where we would be meeting up with the Thomases.

We stayed at this lovely Holiday Inn Resort right on the beach.  The weather was freezing cold pretty much the whole time- dont be deceived by the swimsuits on the beach...it was cold...BUT it was sunny...and because it was sunny and cold the kids didnt sunblock and they (mostly Kenna) got some nasty sunburns.

I was the only one dressed for the weather in this picture

Playing BINGO was probably the hotel highlight.  Between our two families we were winners everytime, and the prize was a free drink.
Kevin winning Bingo

The hot tub was the place to be with the cold weather (when the kids werent getting kicked out ;) and here they are enjoying some bingo prizes

Dinner at Culvers- our fav

We tried a bunch of different breakfast places before giving in and going to Waffle House- which holds a special place in Jacobs heart for some reason I cant remember.  It was a pretty big hit with the kids and it was right across the street from our hotel.

Okay and then when our trip was over or supposed to be over we went to the airport where our flight was cancelled.  Kevin and Brielle and Emmitt caught a flight the next morning but Makenna were stuck for two more nights- which worked out perfectly because we got some actual warm weather- and I got some good Kenna time- a blessing in disguise.
