Ordination Day

On Sunday May 11, 2014 Brayden was ordained to the office of Deacon in the Aaronic Priesthood.  We were blessed to have both sets of grandparents join us for the occasion.  Brayden will be such a help to the Lord in sharing His gospel in these latter days.  He is a valiant spirit and devoted disciple of Christ and we are so proud of him.

Happy Birthday Brayden

Brayden turned 12.  That is a big milestone.  Hes graduating from Primary and Elementary school.  He's getting the priesthood and becoming a deacon and a Young Man.  Im more excited about this milestone than sad.  Brayden is ready to grow up and tackle all the adventures that lay ahead of him.  Hes such a good good kid.  We just love him so much!
He enjoyed a special birthday breakfast, then I joined him for lunch at school with Chick Fil A and then he chose Culvers for his birthday dinner.  What a delicious day!

Easter Festivities

Easter was fun this year as always as we repeated some of our favorite traditions.  We dyed eggs, we rolled eggs, we hunted for eggs and of course we ate eggs.
We also enjoyed a nice Easter Sunday.  The kids got baskets from the Easter Bunny but oddly enough I didnt take any pictures of them (I did video so I forgot to take pictures).  Then after a beautiful church service we had a nice dinner with the Decker family.  Easter is a great holiday.  Its such a wonderful time to reflect on our Savior Jesus Christ and all he did for each of us.  Because of Him, I have these sweethearts forever!  I love Easter, I love my Savior, and I love my beautiful family all so so so much!

EGG HUNTING

Room Makeover

So this is the first painting I have done in our house in the six years that we have lived here.  But after we switched Braydens old room into the girls new room, and took down a lot of posters and paint with them, a painting job became neccesary. Painting is sure not as easy as it looks.  It took me a lot longer than expected but in the end I am really happy with how it turned out.  I really struggled with color selection but after putting several samples on the wall I went with this "sprinkle" color because it was the girls first choice.  Brielle said she wanted it so that she could play mermaids and pretend to live in Elsas ice castle.  Well with those reasons I figured I couldn't go wrong.  Here's some pictures of the final product:
Color is hard to capture just right in pictures but you get the idea at least.

HAL Project

Brayden and Makenna both presented their GEP's (guided education project) for the Papillion LaVista School Districst's HAL (high ability learner) showcase event.  I'm so proud of my smarty pants kids.  They are so awesome!  Teachers love them as they are well behaved, good examples, quick learners and have such great character.  And of course we love them too. Did I mention I'm proud of them?  Cause yes - yes I am!

Goofballs

So as I have mentioned, Emmitt is known to remove his clothing at any given time.  I snapped this picture one evening while I was working at the computer.  I know someday I will forget what a character he is (at 3 years old) but this picture will bring it all back to me.  My favorite part is if you look closely you will see that he has an ipod tucked in to the side of his pull up.

And our other goofball in the house is Dallas.  He's a sweetheart really and at times, gives us some great photo ops.

Brielle the Soccer Player

This Spring we signed Brielle up for Soccer for her first season.  She looks super cute there out on the field and shows some great sporty potential.  Here she is at her first practice:

And here are some actions shots from her last game where she scored two goals!  Yay Brielle!

I didn't realize the intensity until I looked at some of these pictures after the game.  I love the facial expressions.
And some of the sideline action...  Emmitt keeps busy (he took those pictures of Kevin and I)
