The Cliffs of Insanity

On Friday Kevin had a bit of fun toboganning off what I would call the "Cliffs of Insanity." He was no longer satisfied with the smooth slope of the front yard so he moved on to the jagged drop in the backyard. His plan was to desend the backyard cliff, curve just to miss the house and then slide smoothly down the front yard slope safely onto the sidewalk. In one of his "no- so-great" parenting moments he put Brayden on for a test run. Brayden hit several rocks, gaining both air and pain and flipping over to land not so happily on his face- hence the not-so- great parenting moment. Kevin endured the rocky slide, refusing to acknowledge the pain, but slammed into the house on just about every run. I think he had at least one or two semi successful trips but we need another foot or so of snow before I would ever think of it. Actually even then its just not happening!




This picture below is not of sledding but if you look carefully you can see a big horn sheep on the top of the ridge. I took this picture from my kitchen window so I think that it is pretty cool- of course it would be much cooler without the power lines in the way- but what can you do!

    this was so funny to read. mostly because it sounds exactly like something scott would do. in fact, he's already had his own "not-so-great parenting moment" at rock canyon park when he wiped grace out and scared ethan to death by starting at the top of the hill!

    I went out sledding with the Young Men last week, and my gosh was I sore afterwards. Too many big bumps and jumps.

    Your sledding exploits sound almost as crazy as rolling down a hill in a giant, abandoned, plastic tube. I couldn't help but think of that freshman year experience when I read this post. Cool pic of the big horn sheep as well.
